After experiencing a summer slump our attendance is back in the high thirties. We are having visitors and a number of them are attended regularly. This month we baptized one of our men who had not been scripturally baptized. Carolyn led two of her teenage girls in her Sunday School class to the Lord and we baptized them this past Sunday. One of the girls comes from a LDS family. Among our new visitors, is a former Mormon man who has been coming for over a month, a young mother and her daughter, a lady who lives south of Tremonton, and a Navaho Indian lady. A family of six visited this past Sunday from North Ogden who recently moved to Utah from North Carolina. We have two new boys attending Sunday School from a Mormon family. Sadly we have lost several people due to sin in their lives. It is always disappointing when those who have been taught and heard the word of God turn from the Lord and go into the world. We never give up on them and continue to pray that they will repent.
Teaching the college classes has been very tiring, but is going well and we will finish the semester in a few weeks with two men completing the courses. In the Spring semester we are hoping to offer at least four courses. We are trying to build a library for the school and have a need for reference books. The books we need are Bible dictionaries; Bible concordances like Strong's; word studies books such as Vines Expository Dictionary of New and Old Testament words, Wilson's; Greek word study books and lexicons; Bible commentaries; Bible handbooks such as Halley's and Unger's, Theology text books, etc. If you have reference works you would like to donate, they would be greatly appreciated. Your help with this would be a good investment in the lives of those we are training for the ministry.
We finished putting in the sprinkler system for the lawn three weeks ago and it is seeded and we have covered it with straw. When warm weather returns in late Spring the grass should come up and give us a beautiful lawn.
We are also planning an open house in the Spring and inviting the community to come and see what the Lord has done. Many people in the community continue to ask when we will be having the open house and commenting on how impressed they are as to how the church and the building have progressed. That gives us the opportunity to tell them how much the Lord has blessed us and occasionally share the Gospel.
Carolyn is busy working on our children's Christmas play by preparing the script, arranging the music, and making costumes for all the characters. We are expecting a good attendance from the community.
We hope that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Our next door neighbor, a Mormon whom we have been witnessing to, has invited us to have Thanksgiving with her and her family. It has been a long time since we were able to spend Thanksgiving with our families.
Those of you who are praying for us can be assured that God is answering your prayers. Although things at times are discouraging, we can see God's hand at work in many ways. It is such a bless to see people saved and slowly growing in the Lord. We thank the Lord for each of you.
